- What if I have some ceilings higher than the Extension Pole will reach?
The included Extension Pole should reach 12 ft ceilings but if you have some ceilings which are higher (cafeteria, commons area, etc.) the Installation Tool has UNIVERSAL THREADS so it will work with any paint roller extension pole. Ceilings as high as 18 ft can be decorated without CLIMBING!
- What if my building has motion detectors?
Not a problem. Many schools that have motion detectors use this system because the displays can be taken down easily, quickly, and without risk of falling. In a classroom, for example, the student-of-the-day can be assigned the task of removing and installing the classroom displays.
- What if my walls are brick or concrete and nothing seems to stick to them?
When you have suspended ceilings there will be a piece of metal frame going around the outside of the walls. Hot glue some HangUmUpEZ Paper Clips to a piece of ribbon, about 1" wide, and then attach the ribbon to an "O" Ring. Insert an Edge Hook through the "O" Ring and using the Installation Tool raise the display to the outside ceiling grid and attach the Edge Hook. You can also attach the ribbon to one of our clips (tape it securely to the ribbon) and then insert the edge hook through the top center hole of the clip and hang the assembly from the ceiling frame. See the instructions on the How-To page. Also see some examples in our "Slide Show" presentation of schools utilizing this.
- How much weight will the hooks hold?
The appropriate answer to that question is: How much weight will your ceiling hold? Your suspended ceiling, or drop ceiling, is held by wires attached to a permanent ceiling. These wires are then attached to the metal grids that hold ceiling tiles. Never overload your suspended ceilings. The HangUmUpEZ system is for light weight instructional visuals only.
- My Fire Marshall says to have all items at least 18" from the ceiling.
We would never want you to go against any guidelines or fire codes but our product is made from nylon, which is nonflammable, and by using monofilament fishing line you could easily adjust your visuals to be longer than 18" from the ceiling.
